Network Louth Host Business Seminar on New Markets

Network Louth, supported by Louth County Enterprise Board, has delivered a successful seminar to female entrepreneurs to assist in developing strategies to identify new market opportunities.

Hosted by the Crowne Plaza Hotel on the 7th May, guest speakers on the night were Mariead McGuinness MEP and Director of O’Callaghan Insurance Group, Caeva O’Callaghan.

Former journalist and broadcaster Mariead McGuinness, Fine Gael MEP for Ireland East, serves on the European Parliament’s Agriculture and Rural Development Committee and on the Budgets and Petitions Committees. Within Ireland her priorities have included balanced regional and local development, vocational and educational programmes, transport and equal opportunities.

The appointment of Caeva O’Callaghan to the O’Callaghan Insurance Group in 1993, had a major impact on the company’s growth and since then its online business ’quoteme.ie’ has become a market leader in the provision of insurance services in Ireland, employing 50 people at their Head Office in Dundalk.

Both women delivered inspirational case studies and positive examples of how women could achieve and generate success in their business by proactively identifying new business opportunities.

Network Vice President Aoife Rafferty said:
“At a time when established and new businesses alike are struggling, the theme of the seminar could not have been more appropriate and we were delighted to see significant attendance of women from Dundalk, Drogheda and Meath.

“The calibre of our speakers was outstanding and I’m delighted they accepted our invitation so that we could bring their stories and insight to an audience of Louth business women,” Aoife added.

The event is one of a series organised by Network Louth which is supported by Louth County Enterprise Board. For information on upcoming events or to join Network Louth contact Margaret Andrews on 048 3083 7575 or email: margaret@networklouth.com
